A fire-resistant door is a system in which the frame, leaf, seals, closer and selected hardware work together. The required EI class, size and daily operating use are not separate decisions.

Wedging or holding a door open with a heavy object can compromise its protection function. Open-door operating scenarios should use only approved technical solutions.
